Today Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz testified, again, in strong support for dedicated funding for wildfire and forest health in the Senate’s operating budget. I can’t say it enough: it is our duty to protect the firefighters who put their lives on the line to protect us.
Dedicated funding is necessary for the long-term solutions we need to keep our communities and firefighters safe, solutions like implementing our 20-Year Forest Health Strategic Plan [➡️ dnr.wa.gov/ForestHealthPlan] and Wildland Fire Protection 10-Year Strategic Plan [➡️ dnr.wa.gov/Wildfire_Strategic_Plan].
