Stanley Nolan (University of Connecticut), David McIntosh (Eversource Energy) and Andrew Brydges (CT Green Bank) lead a discussion on campus sustainability initiatives at the #SustainU2015 Campus Sustainability Conference, April 28, 2015 at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Session description: The University of Connecticut is committed to leadership in campus sustainability for our generation and for the next generation. Through an ongoing series of initiatives UConn seeks out the best opportunities to conserve energy, reduce waste, decrease our carbon footprint, and increase awareness of sustainable practices. In 2014, UConn completed implementation of the second phase of four retro-commissioning projects and re-lamped over 115 buildings. UConn has signed a three year Strategic Energy Management plan Memorandum of Understanding with Eversource to achieve deep and comprehensive energy savings across the UConn campuses during the next three years. In addition, UConn is conducting an Investment Grade Energy Audit for an Energy Savings Performance Contract under the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Lead by Example Program to upgrade facilities and infrastructure at the main Storrs campus. This efforts seeks to maintain net zero emissions and carbon footprint growth while expanding the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) resources under the $1.5 billion NextGen program.
